In origin the house belonged to a wealthy single engineer who has sold it to Franciscan Monks of Assisi, from which the current owner, Mr. Amedeo Ottaviani, bought it in 1970. Since then, several renovations that have occurred have given the property a unique style of a private residence rather than the appearance of a hotel, with is located in the very well known residential Parioli area. Among the most 'illustrious guests: diplomats and many people of entrepreneurship and international jet set, which descend in this hotel for privacy and discretion, that the property jealously guards.
White House: this nickname actually comes from the outside color of the building, all pure white and for being a luxury home, with highest regard guests, the hotel has had many distinguished guests, politicians, nobles. So during the passage of a great diplomat in the '80s, the hotel has earned the nickname of a small "white house ".
